Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a difficult year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This marks the player's initial championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Victory also means he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
