I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
